Delaplaine Foundation, Inc. recently presented Frederick Health with two generous contributions totaling $50,000.
The Foundation provided Frederick Health with a grant of $30,000 to support the purchase of lifesaving, rapid-delivery blood transfusion equipment for the Emergency Department, in addition to a grant of $20,000 to expand the availability of the ProMotion Fitness program to income-restricted individuals.
Frederick Health’s Emergency Room experiences more than 67,000 patient visits annually. ProMotion Fitness is a medically supervised exercise facility with state-of-the-art equipment and highly trained staff that provide individualized programs for those facing chronic health conditions such as diabetes, cancer, obesity, arthritis, and cardiovascular disease.
“We consistently examine the Foundation’s impact and the return on investment of grant dollars invested in the community. It’s difficult to imagine an organization in our community with a more extensive reach and impact on the lives of families and individuals than Frederick Health,” said Marlene Young, President, Delaplaine Foundation, Inc. “Through the myriad of programs and services provided—from emergency and critical care to chronic conditions care, to general health maintenance and preventative healthcare and wellness programs, from pediatrics to geriatrics—Frederick Health is there with superior quality care in every season of life. We’re pleased to partner with Frederick Health as a critically vital community and regional source of healthcare excellence.”
“Frederick Health has long relied on charitable support to help us grow and change to meet the ever-increasing healthcare needs of those who live and work in our community,” stated Tom Kleinhanzl, President & CEO, Frederick Health. “Delaplaine Foundation has been a wonderful partner to the hospital for more than 20 years. These two grants will provide life-saving technology in our Emergency Department and will enable access to cardiac rehab and fitness to individuals who would otherwise be unable to benefit from the program due to financial limitations. This is yet another example of Delaplaine Foundation’s continued commitment to enrich the quality of life in Frederick County.”
Since joining the Frederick Health donor family in 2003, Delaplaine Foundation’s generosity—totaling more than $1.13 million—has provided crucial funding for many areas of the hospital, including the Prenatal Center, the James M Stockman Cancer Institute, as well as the Cardiac, Emergency, and Critical Care Units. In addition, the Foundation’s leadership support of the ReEnvisioning Critical Care Campaign was instrumental in the recent renovation and expansion of the hospital’s critical care service areas.
