What are clinical trials?

Clinical Trials are research studies that involve patient participation. This method of research is intended to expand medical knowledge and develop new treatment methods. Clinical trials provide researchers with valuable information about treatments that are not in general use, and they provide patients with access to the newest drugs. Most standard cancer treatments used today began as clinical trials.
