Meet Dr. Greg Gagnon
Dr. Greg Gagnon is a pioneer in
CyberKnife® radiosurgery. He joined the Frederick Health CyberKnife® Center and
Radiation Medicine team as Medical Director in February 2010. Dr. Gagnon
has extensive experience treating thousands of patients using radiation
technology.
Before joining Frederick Health in 2010, Dr. Gagnon spent the previous
20 years at Georgetown University's Department of Radiation Medicine,
serving as Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology, acting Chair of
the Department of Radiation Medicine, Chief of Service and CyberKnife® Director.
His expertise in treating prostate, breast, lung, and pancreatic cancers,
as well as the work he has done in pediatric and central nervous system
cancers has led to several publications and the co-authorship of two books
about radiosurgery.
Dr. Gagnon has lectured around the world about CyberKnife® radiosurgery
and other radiation oncology topics.
Meet Dr. Meredith Wernick
Meredith Wernick M.D is a board-certified Radiation Oncologist. She received
her BS in Chemistry and BA in Molecular & Cell Biology at the University
of California at Berkeley in 1996. She spent the next four years as a
researcher for the UCSF Cancer Center, with a focus on the genetics of
breast cancer.
Dr. Wernick completed her medical training at Georgetown University where
she also completed her Internship in Internal Medicine. She completed
her residency in Radiation Oncology at the National Capital Consortium:
a joint program as a clinical fellow at the NIH and residency at Walter
Reed National Military Medical Center. During this time, she was awarded
the Commander’s Award for Public Service.
She is a member of ASTRO: the American Society of Radiation Oncology, the
American Society for Clinical Oncology and is a Diplomat of the American
Board of Radiology. She has co-authored many peer-reviewed articles in
prestigious literary journals such as Nature Genetics, Cancer and PNAS.
She was voted
Washingtonian Top Doctor in 2019.
Dr. Wernick resides in Potomac, Maryland with her husband and two sons.
